From Dan: Bill Clinton Hit a Home Run
posted on September 06, 2012 by Dan

Bill Clinton's speech last night was a home run. Upper deck home run. May or may not help Obama's re-election chances, but it gave him a boost at least. Even many Republican commentators said that from a political standpoint it was a very good performance. The main reason it was so good was its conversational tone -- he had a real conversation with the American people. He was part teacher, part analyst, part philosopher and while Clinton would probably scoff at it, part father. He had the grace and good taste to say nice things about the Republicans, but also dissected and countered the broad brush stroke attacks that had come out of the Republican convention. And he also spoke about the vitriol and rancor that has become all too commonplace in DC, which many Americans agree with. All in all, in my opinion, it was a masterful speech.
