From Dan: Romney's Speech Was Solid

Romney's speech was at the very least solid, workman like…and some, maybe many, may yet rate it good to excellent. It will be hard to argue that it soared. (Acceptance speeches have occasionally done so -- both parties -- in the past but not often.) It was the best speech Romney has ever given, to my knowledge. Lots of energy, passionate. Is it enough to reduce, if not eliminate, the popular perception that Romney is somehow "not authentic" and enough to improve his likeability factor in the polls? We'll see. My expectation is that Republicans will get a "bump" in polls from this convention and Romney's speech. (Parties usually do. And when they do, the "bump" usually doesn't mean much in the long run.)
