Biden's number one job tonight is not to make any big mistakes; not say or do anything that winds up negatively "viral" on the Internet or TV News programs - no gaffes, no blunders. Ryan's number one job: ditto.
Each man is under some pressure as a direct result of the first Presidential debate: Biden to make-up for - "redeem" - Obama's puzzling performance. If Biden responds too aggressively to the "take-it-to-him" call by disappointed Obama Democrats he risks demising or bungling his "job one" and/or coming off as trying too hard to fashion a make-up for Obama.
Ryan's under pressure to build on Romney's good showing and thus, he too risks being too aggressive, trying too hard, and coming off a bit "uppity."
