From Dan: Who's to Blame for Hurricane Sandy Response Efforts?
posted on November 05, 2012 by Dan
The Department of Homeland Security -- on a bi-partisan basis -- has much to answer for in the wake of Sandy. Preparation? Speed of action? Level of action? And the Red Cross is still taking heavy criticism for slowness in response to the storm victims. Whether justified or not (and it is not clear to me yet), if anyone is concerned about this, the Salvation Army is another "helping hand" organization to which funds can be given. It’s generally in the past been good and fast in situations like these.
Also thinking about the storm victims on cold nights in the worst hit areas. My heart goes out to them -- it’s too easy for the rest of us not to think enough about them, not to do enough for them.
